Marilyn is passionate about empowering and inspiring writers and creative people of all types to put their work out into the world, and to be open to alternative pathways to publication and finding an audience.

Machine City 2050
Marilyn Miller’s debut novel Machine City 2050, is a literary science-fiction novel about a man who wakes up in Chicago, in 2050, as a robot.
It explores themes of relationships and identity, family, resilience, our place in the universe and what makes us human.
Genre: Literary Science Fiction, with strong speculative and emotional undercurrents. Tone: Character-centric, poetic, introspective, psychological, taut with time-travel, robotics, computer code, space exploration, mystery, and time-bending tension. Audience: Readers who loved Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, Klara and the Sun, Sea of Tranquility, Dark Matter, Project Hail Mary. Smart, emotionally tuned adults, 25–48. Length: 100K words.
Marilyn Miller is a literary science fiction writer who lives and works on the traditional lands of the Kulin nation, Australia.
Marilyn is interested in themes of humanity, creativity, technology, robotics, space, Chicago and 2050. Her forthcoming debut novel, Machine City 2050 is in development.
Marilyn is a graduate of RMIT’s acclaimed Associate Degree of Professional Writing and Editing program, has a Bachelor of Economics degree, studied at Central St Martin’s in London, and has had a professional career in information technology.
Marilyn’s published fiction pieces appear in Sunday 11:59 Clover Press (2016), Visible Ink Vol.27 Petrichor (2015), 9/11 Merrill Lynch Remembers (2002), and the online magazine Digittante.com (2001, 2000). Marilyn indie-published a non-fiction book, The 15 Minute Project Manager in 2023.
